Crynodeb
To provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures within the Cardiac Intervention Suite. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their journey. Clinical Care: Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, including pre-assessment, cannulation, and monitoring. Act as scrub or circulating nurse during interventions such as angiography, device implantation, cardioversion and loop recorder. Provide recovery care post-procedure, monitoring for complications and managing sedation. Safety & Compliance: Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to WHO safety checklists and LocSSIPs protocols. Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and Trust policies. Coordination & Administration: Accurately document patient care and maintain records. Assist in managing patient flow and scheduling elective and emergency cases. Education & Development: Support and mentor junior staff, students, and healthcare assistants. Participate in training programs and maintain professional development. Quality & Audit: Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in a flexible rota, supporting cardiology department if required. Work in a high-pressure environment requiring rapid decision-making and teamwork.
