Our friendly team at Carlton Drive Short Breaks are looking for a part time Domestic Assistant to join our team. (21 hours per week, Monday - Friday (9.00-13.00) Carlton Drive is a purpose-built respite home in Wigston, providing respite care for adults with learning disability, Autism, Physical disabilities and Sensory impairments. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work as part of our team, to provide person centred care.

About the Role
The domestic assistant is responsible for providing general cleaning duties in the service. The domestic assistant role will work alongside other team members ensuring the environment is safe and hygienic for users of the service, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained.
You don’t need to have any previous formal experience, we are interested in people who share our values to join our committed team and celebrate individuality and diversity.
We will provide the training needed (in work-time) and have a team behind you to mentor, coach and support your journey.
You will work in accordance with Leicestershire County Council’s Employee Code of Conduct, Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers.
We will meet the training costs and the DBS enhanced check (Adults Barred List) for a regulated activity required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to meet all of the following:
Maintain and clean all workplace areas within the home and attached offices and its fixtures and fitting which can include, sanitary equipment, windows, flooring, deep cleaning following an infectious outbreak and higher level cleaning in kitchen areas in line with the good food handling and infection control principles
Replenish supplies as necessary, and inform Clerical support/ Handyperson of stock levels, and follow COSHH related risk assessments
Deal with routine cleaning which needs to be done on a daily or weekly basis as well as emergencies such as spills. You may also carry out regular, planned deep cleaning on a monthly or annual basis.
Follow universal precautions with particular regard to regular and effective hand washing to maintain good infection control.
Adhere to the councils Health and Safety Policy and to report all health and safety issues as a matter of urgency to the Senior staff on duty.
