An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) Reform Business Support Officer to work within the Adult Social Care Reform, Practice Assurance and Development team managed by the Strategic Business Manager for Local Authority and Systems Assurance. The team is part of the Adult Social Care Operations Service and managed by the Head of Service for Adult Social Care Improvement who is also the Principal Social Worker for Adults. The successful person will be based at Delamere House, Crewe, but will also be able to work at home, there will also be a necessity to travel to other places within Cheshire East.

The team was responsible for coordinating the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Local Authority Assurance submission and supported the CQC inspection process, Cheshire East was rated as ‘Good’ with a score of 75%. The Team oversees our LA Assurance Improvement Plan with the ambition to go from Good to Outstanding.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Reform Business Support Officer contributes to the improvement and development of Adult Social Care as the team works across the organisation and with system partners to continue preparation for the ongoing CQC LA Assurance Assessment process as the assessment framework develops. Also, for future social care reforms, whilst consolidating and building on our practice assurance and development framework. The team supports peer reviews/challenges and a range of projects to deliver service improvement and transformation.

We are looking for a highly motivated, focused individual who is committed to improving outcomes for the people we support, building partnerships and developing innovative ways to support the improvement of services. They need to demonstrate initiative, manage fluctuating priorities and communicate well. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is necessary. They be part of a small, vibrant and friendly team that is keen to support their development.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

Understanding of the Council’s structure, services, policies, processes and procedures.
Understanding of confidentiality, data protection requirements and responsibilities.
Ability to organise own workload in response to changing and conflicting demands.
Research, problem solving skills – able to understand and assimilate diverse information and extract/relay relevant information accordingly.
Developed ICT skills – including proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Knowledge of inspection frameworks.
