Design Manager - Hitchin
The Company
This regional contractor has built an outstanding reputation across Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties by consistently delivering high‑quality construction projects and maintaining long‑term relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners. Known for their collaboration, reliability, and technical strength, they are recognised as one of the most respected medium‑sized contractors in the region.
They specialise in a wide range of project types, including education, commercial, residential, community buildings, leisure facilities, heritage refurbishments, and public‑sector schemes. They place a strong emphasis on repeat business and partnering frameworks, and are committed to delivering projects safely, sustainably, and to an excellent standard.
A key reason they are regarded as a great company to work for is their culture. They are large enough to offer structure, progression, and professional development, yet small enough to remain personable, supportive, and grounded. Staff turnover is extremely low, reflecting a workplace where people feel valued, listened to, and able to build long‑term careers. Their modern, refurbished offices, flexible working arrangements, and strong work/life balance make this a genuinely supportive environment for long‑term career growth.
