Ready to impact a better future?As a Leisure Assistant in our Oak Tree Leisure team, you’ll help create a safe, clean, friendly, and positive environment that supports the local community to be active and well. Your work will have purpose every day – ensuring people feel welcome, supported, and able to enjoy their leisure experience.
You’ll play an important part in maintaining high standards across our facilities, supporting activities, and making sure every visitor has a great experience. From setting up equipment to helping colleagues and customers, you’ll contribute to a space that brings people together and supports healthier futures.
What you’ll do as a Leisure AssistantYou’ll be entrusted to:
- Provide high quality support with bookings, equipment, and facility use
- Ensure all areas of the centre are clean, tidy, and ready for use, completing cleaning tasks as required
- Set up equipment safely and on time, reporting any faults immediately
- Follow correct procedures for all physical tasks, manual handling, and risk assessments
- Safeguard and correctly operate equipment and appliances
- Apply good housekeeping at all times, supporting our effort to reduce utility consumption and carbon footprint
- Provide front of house cover when needed, following booking, enquiry, and cash handling processes
- Communicate clearly, tactfully, and helpfully when dealing with customer enquiries or complaints
- Attend meetings, training, and development sessions
- Follow all health and safety requirements, including duty of care to colleagues and the general public

- Experience or awareness of health and safety, equality and diversity, and leisure centre operations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- The ability to work confidently with customers of all ages
- An open, positive, and adaptable approach to teamwork
- A reasonable level of personal fitness to undertake physical tasks
