About the Role:

1. Manage, monitor and control visitors to the Estate to ensure security, compliance with by-laws, safety, enjoyment and general welfare on site.
2. Manage and maintain the Estate’s natural environment, wildlife, and recreation facilities to ensure that high standards of conservation, presentation, provision, and safety are consistently met.
3. Manage, implement, and monitor practical visitor services and Duty Ranger functions, including emergency procedures, cash transport, relief duties, water safety and first aid, to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective management and coordination of operations on site.
4. Manage the deer herds, and other livestock including handling, feeding, administration of drugs, culling, butchery, sales of venison, to maximize income generation, comply with regulations and maintain herds to the highest standards of health and quality.
5. In liaison with the Events Manager, support, monitor and coordinate external and in-house events to ensure they are managed in a successful, effective, and safe manner.
6. Maintain, use and deploy vehicles, machinery and equipment and tools in accordance with Health and Safety policy and legislation to ensure the delivery of services in a safe and effective manner
7. Lead, motivate and supervise Assistant Rangers, Presentation Assistants, seasonal staff, contractors, volunteers, work placements etc., under the direction of the Estate Team Leader, to ensure the effective delivery of visitor services, presentation, and maintenance.
8. Prepare, implement, and review, in conjunction with the Estate Team Leader, visitor services including information, education, recreation and interpretative programmes, to maximise opportunities for visitor enjoyment and income generation.
10. Manage, carry out and review work programmes to ensure a consistent and structured approach to the conservation, maintenance and management of the parkland, woodlands, and farmland.
11. Check and maintain records and prepare and submit reports when required to ensure effective communication of management information to all concerned.

About you:

You will need to be a self motivated individual who can work individually and as part of a team. You must be able to work calmly under pressure and prioritise your workload. You must be hardworking and enthusiastic with a passion for wildlife and conservation with previous experience in a similar role.
