Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Area: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Start Date: February 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £105.00 - £120 per day / Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
About the school:
We are looking for a caring and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our specialist schools within a welcoming and inclusive multi-academy trust.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity for a committed individual to have a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs. You will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored support, enabling pupils to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
About the role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions
- Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day
- Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team
What We're Looking For:
- Ideally - experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting)
- Someone with a nurturing and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and resilience to meet the varying needs of pupils
- Strong understanding of Autism and SEND
- What would set you apart - relevant TA qualification
To be eligible you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
