Are you passionate about supporting learners with additional needs and helping them build the essential skills they need for adulthood? A well-established Further Education College in the Chelmsford area is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Lecturer in Foundation Provision to join their dedicated SEN Unit.


About the Role
This role is perfect for someone who is motivated, creative, and experienced in delivering high-quality learning to students with Special Educational Needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons that support learners personal development, independence, employability and life skills.
You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and curriculum leads to create a positive, inclusive, and empowering educational experience for students working at Entry Level.


Key Responsibilities
· Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality teaching for Foundation Learning/SEN groups
· Create differentiated learning materials tailored to a range of additional needs
· Support learners in developing independence, communication, and functional skills
· Work collaboratively with LSAs, support teams, and external professionals
· Contribute to EHCP reviews and maintain accurate learner progress records
· Provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
· Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing within the classroom


Requirements
· Experience teaching or supporting learners with SEN (preferably in FE or Post-16 settings)
· A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
· Strong understanding of Entry Level curriculum, life skills, and inclusive teaching strategies
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners
· Patience, empathy, and a learner-centred approach
