SEMH Support Worker - The Role
- You'll be supporting pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- Many have experienced disrupted education, trauma, or a loss of trust in school. Your job is to help rebuild that trust.
- Building safe, consistent relationships with pupils
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Helping pupils re-engage with learning at a pace that works for them
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Being a calm, steady presence on the tough days and a champion on the good ones
- Located in Northampton, Northamptonshire
SEMH Support Worker - What we're Looking For
- You don't need to have worked in a school before, but you do need:
Resilience, empathy, and patience
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour (education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.)
- A genuine passion for helping pupils
- The ability to stay calm, consistent, and solution-focused
- A willingness to learn and be part of a supportive team
- Commutable to Northampton, Northamptonshire
