Crynodeb
We are seeking to expand our team with the recruitment of a casual Education Workshop Leader to deliver engaging workshops for visitors of all ages at Towneley Hall and on an outreach basis that enhance understanding and enjoyment of the museum’s collections and exhibits. You will use your passion for culture and heritage to create interactive, inclusive, and dynamic learning experiences for pre-school, schools and family visitors.
You will work closely with the Towneley team and partners to ensure the Hall’s educational initiatives align with its mission and provide meaningful experiences for diverse audiences.
Knowledge of educational theory and experience of delivering workshops for children, schools or the general public are essential, as well as excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. You must also have the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people and make learning fun. Experience in a museum, gallery, or educational setting is desirable.
This is an exciting time to join the Towneley team as we introduce new activities following the major restoration and prepare for Burnley’s Year of Culture 2027.
This is a casual position and hours offered will be based on the Hall’s needs. The role will require flexibility as hours will include evenings, weekends, weekdays and public holidays. You will be part of a pool and opportunities for hours will be shared. Hours available will fluctuate but will potentially average 3-5 hours per week.
For an informal discussion on the content of the job description or person specification, please contact Sally Smith, Towneley Hall Manager, on 01282 477138
