Job Title: Nursery Practitioner – Full Time
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Hours: Full time | Between 8:00am – 6:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a welcoming early years setting based in Southend-on-Sea. This is a full-time role, with working hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm, offering stability and the opportunity to grow within a supportive environment.

This role is ideal for a qualified Nursery Practitioner who is enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. The nursery is looking for someone who is caring, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality early years education.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this Nursery Practitioner position, you must hold one of the following:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Qualification, such as:

    • CACHE Level 2/3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce


    • NVQ Level 2/3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development


    • Early Years Educator (EYE) qualification



      You must also have:

      • A good understanding of the EYFS


      • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection


      • A positive, nurturing approach to working with young children


        Key Responsibilities

        As a Nursery Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

        • Supporting children aged 0–5 with their learning and development


        • Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS


        • Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress


        • Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment


        • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues


        • Adhering to safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times
