We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Psychologist to join the Children and Young People’s Psychological Service (CYPPS), Blackpool. CYPPS is a multi-disciplinary psychological therapies service. We aim to deliver high quality innovative psychological solutions with service users through consultation, parent workshops, and individual, systemic/family therapy and group work.

Your role within the service will be to support psychological assessment and deliver manualised psychological interventions under supervision. You will also support audit, service development and service evaluation.

We are a small, supportive team; you will have opportunities to shadow clinical work and develop your own skills. The service is co-located with other Children’s Services working on the Fylde Coast and there is ample opportunity to meet and work with other Assistant Psychologists.

To support the professional and psychological care of clients within the service; providing psychological assessment and manualised psychological interventions.

To assist in the implementation of audit and research projects, such as outcome measure research, across the Service. To assist in the administration and interpretation of research related measures, collation and recording of statistics and production of relevant reports.

All work and actions take place under the management and supervision of practitioner psychology staff according to an agreed plan and associated goals within parameters set out by departmental policies and procedures.

Formal supervision with a named member of practitioner psychology staff to take place on a weekly basis, with regular opportunities for informal contact for guidance and advice.
