Personal Assistant required!

About the role:
We are looking for someone to help our son, who has autism and ADHD, on a 1:1 basis to develop his confidence and social skills within the community. As his PA, you will be able to support him to explore opportunities and discover new experiences. This could include taking him to museums, to the leisure centre, the library, and even local events.
About our son:
I am a friendly and affectionate 16 year old boy, who enjoys learning about flags and history – I even have my own flag book that I created. I also enjoy music and animation, as well as LEGO and Thomas the Tank. I am verbal but have some communication difficulties, so will need someone who is patient and understanding as I get my words out.
About you:
The ideal PA for our son is someone who is kind, reliable, and enthusiastic. We are looking for someone who is active and enjoys a variety of activities. We are looking for someone who will take a keen interest in learning about our son, such as his likes and dislikes, and take into account what is important to him.
Experience of providing support and care is preferable but not essential.
A driving license is essential for this post.
Benefits of being a PA:
• A friendly and welcoming work environment
• Access to training and learning opportunities
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata)
• Sick pay at SSP rate (if applicable)
• Flexible working hours and days
• A funded DBS check prior to the commencement of the role
• PA induction or willingness to work towards Autism Awareness
Hours: 3.5 hours weekly, though we are happy to allow support for a longer period less regularly (alternate weeks or school holidays)
Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
