Salary range Band 2 3 £25,185 - £28,142 (£2,946 - £3,292 actual salary for 220 annualised hours)
Trafford council is a Living Wage Employer.
Working Hours 220 annualised hours, to support service demand, of which at least 50% to be worked at weekends/bank holidays (approximately 4.25 hours per week)

About the Role
We have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to deliver a wide range of services at peak times of the year. The registration service is busy, and the role can be demanding, emotional and requires commitment to the service, but it is varied, interesting and rewarding. The service plays a critical role in registering life events, and the work is office based with face-to-face customer engagement being a legal requirement of the role. You will be part of a small, friendly and hard-working team who put excellent customer service at the heart of the service.
About you
As registration assistant, you will be involved in the delivery of both registrations and ceremonies, in particular, at weekends to assist with service demand to enable service users’ maximum choice. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well experienced in administration and IT skills, with attention to detail being an essential quality. Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviors’, and you should be committed to continually learning and improving, working together and taking ownership of your actions. You must be able to work flexibly, including at short notice and at weekends.

An enhanced DBS check with children/adults barred list check will be required.
Flexibility to work over 7 days will be required, including outside our core office opening hours (Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm)
You will be required to work on a rota and an unsocial hour’s allowance will be paid.
Attendance at various venues across the borough to register and conduct marriages and civil partnerships is required and you will therefore be required to have the use of a vehicle and drive in this role.
