We are looking for Family worker in Surrey
Salary:pro rata
Hours: 21 per week
Contract: Fixed-term until 30 November 2026
Location: Home-based or hybrid (South London, Vauxhall)
We are recruiting a Family Worker to join an award-winning remote support programme providing trauma-informed interventions for kinship families across the South East of England. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver time-limited support, helping carers build resilience, improve wellbeing, and achieve positive family outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1-to-1 trauma-informed, solution-focused support to kinship carers via phone and video.
Facilitate monthly online peer support groups, promoting engagement and collaboration.
Support carers to navigate complex services, linking them to community resources and professional networks.
Encourage carers to identify strengths, set goals, and work towards positive outcomes.
Maintain safeguarding and risk management standards, completing assessments and ensuring safe practice.
Accurately record casework, outcomes, and feedback using digital systems.
Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, voluntary sector partners, and other agencies.
Experience and Skills Required:
Proven experience providing family support using a goal-focused approach.
Experience facilitating peer support groups, ideally online.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently from home and manage a varied workload.
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable:
Personal experience of kinship care.
Knowledge of the National Kinship Care Strategy (England 2023).
Experience using Salesforce or other case management systems.
Existing networks in the South East voluntary/community sector.
