The Opportunity:
We are looking for a post holder to manage, operate and develop our proteomic facility. The post holder will be involved in all aspects of the mass spectrometry laboratory from consulting users, experimental design proteomic sample preparation through to data analysis as well as promoting and developing the technology to provide high quality mass spectrometry support for researchers across the IGC, University of Edinburgh and beyond.
We are an established mass spectrometry facility broadly offering proteomic, metabolomic and lipidomic analysis on a collaborative basis across the University and beyond. We have four high-resolution instruments (QE one Lumos, timsTOF SCP and on Astral Zoom) coupled to uHPLC. The post holder will focus on proteomic analysis using a wide variety of preparative techniques (bulk, single-cell, spatial). If required, the post holder will perform the data analysis, bioinformatic analysis and be involved in the dissemination of the work.
The post holder will also collaborate with and consult users, including giving advice on experimental design so that samples submitted will be of appropriate quality, suitable for testing hypothesis and experimental worth. Further on, we expect the post holder to develop the range of analyses offered and to actively collaborate with the users.
We offer a range of policies and benefits designed to support you, including
Variety
Collaborating on ground-breaking research
Responsibility and Autonomy and
Opportunities for Personal and Career development.
