Job Title: Personal Assistant
Employer: Deputy/Solicitor on behalf of client Managed by North West Case Management
Location: Nelson, Burnley. BB9 6QF
Salary: £13/£14 per hour on starting, rising to £16/£17 per hour after training
Hours: 24 hours - In the PA role you are expected to work: 2 x 12-hour, day shifts per week. These hours can be flexible and may vary depending on the demands of the role from week to week.
About the Role:
Our client is a 35-year-old man with complex care needs.
Our client requires a personal assistant to support with all personal care, transferring and accessing the community.
Our client lives with his mother in an adapted property in Barrowford, close to Burnley.
Personal Assistant’s Main Duties
• Provide personal care
• Follow a postural management care plan provided by therapists
• Administer medication
• Support the client with his therapy routine
• Support the client to access the community
• Support to appointments
Person Specification
Essential
• Evidence of previous PA or co-ordinating role in the past
• Full Driving licence/ Car driver
• Team worker
• Confident about working in client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of our client and their family
• Flexibility to fit hours around the requirements of the role
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and privacy
• Patience and tolerance
• Responsible
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Confident with using I.T.
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Sense of humour
• Organised
Personal Attributes:
● Experience and knowledge with challenging and complex care.
● Empathy, patience and a person – centred approach to care.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work flexibly and adapt to clients changing needs.
● Excellent time keeping
● Strong working knowledge of IT systems, emails and record keeping.
