DfT is looking for a creative, social-first content creator to join our Digital Communications team. You’ll play a key role in developing compelling video and photography to support our social media strategy and bring government communications to life through social first content.
You’ll lead end-to-end content production for campaigns and announcements - crafting engaging digital stories, developing innovative formats, and growing our reach across platforms including Meta, X, and YouTube.
Reporting to the Senior Creative Content Producer, you’ll work closely with Ministers, stakeholders, and other creatives to deliver impactful content that explains transport policy and connects with the public. You'll also contribute to shaping content strategy and exploring new ways to tell our stories.
We're looking for someone with a proven track record in creating standout digital content, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to direct and produce senior stakeholders. You should be equally comfortable shooting with professional equipment or editing on a mobile device—adapting to fast-paced situations with a flexible, solution-focused mindset. An individual who is naturally interest in social trends and what audiences want to consume on social.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Ideate, develop and produce innovative, social-first content optimised for individual social channels, including high-profile announcements, long-term campaigns, case studies, interviews with the public, and working with influencers and content creators.
- Collaborate with other video producers, designers, strategists to ensure visual consistency across all the department’s digital content and stories align with government messaging.
- Supporting in the management of the full production workflow, from storyboarding and scripting to filming, editing and final delivery.
- Assisting in the development of platform-optimised content, leveraging trending formats and styles to maximise reach and engagement.
- Keeping informed on digital and social media trends to incorporate relevant techniques that boost engagement, ensuring they’re accessible for diverse audiences.
- Use insight gained to assess the effectiveness of content used on social/digital media channels and to recognise patterns and trends, drawing key conclusions to help improve the impact of our digital communication.
