My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, progressive, and well-supported small animal practice in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with leadership experience who is passionate about clinical excellence, team development, and delivering outstanding patient care.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical direction of the practice, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring the highest standards of care for both patients and clients.
The Practice
This exceptionally well-equipped small animal veterinary practice in Stoke-on-Trent offers a modern and supportive working environment, including:
• Digital and dental X-ray
• In-house blood analysers
• Ultrasound
• Seamless access to a nearby 24-hour hospital with:
o CT scanner
o Endoscopy
o Multi-parameter monitoring
o Laparoscopic equipment

The Role – Lead Veterinary Surgeon
As Lead Vet, you will work closely with the Practice Manager to drive clinical standards, performance, and the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.

• Deliver outstanding clinical care to patients and clients
• Lead, mentor, and develop the veterinary and nursing team
• Set and uphold high clinical and professional standards
• Shape and influence the clinical direction of the practice
• Support commercial decision-making and practice performance
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and progressive team culture
This role is ideal for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon or Lead Veterinary Surgeon looking to make a meaningful impact within a well-resourced and ambitious practice.
About You
• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Proven experience in small animal practice
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Passion for mentoring and developing others
• Commitment to high clinical standards and exceptional client care
