Role
Our client is 12 years old and enjoys being outdoors on walks, at parks, attending PAMIS events or going for a drive, so ideally you have a fully insured vehicle.
They can walk short distances but for most of the time will use their wheelchair with your assistance. They will also require manual assistance getting on and off items such as the park swing. When out they does not have danger awareness and will need guidance.
They are very playful and enjoys physical contact such as hand holding, being tickled and cuddles.
They will, at times, need motivated to do activities and if upset may need support and can sometimes become upset with loud noises and will cover their ears to indicate when noise is upsetting them. They are non-verbal, communicates a little through basic sign language and understands some instructions but may need guidance. They will require personal care so you must be comfortable with this.
You must have a caring attitude, have a sense of fun, be motivated and reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
