You will be supporting pupils in Hounslow and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and accessible learning activities
- Help implement individual education plans and personalised support strategies
- Support pupils with communication, sensory, behavioural, or emotional needs
- Promote a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist pupils with personal care needs where required
- Monitor and record pupil progress and share observations with staff
- Contribute to wider school routines during longer-term placements
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Understanding of strategies for autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Confident applying behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Adaptable across different key stages and learning environments
- Professional, reliable, and proactive
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
