Technical, administrative and budgetary supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as minor jobs on the French Embassy’s property stock.
======
MAIN ACTIVITIES : Within the buildings in the French Embassy’s property stock (Embassy, Consulate General in London, SCAC [Cooperation and Cultural Action Department], SESRI/RPOMI [Higher Education, Research and Innovation/Permanent Representation of France to the International Maritime Organization], French Residence in London, Consulate General in Edinburgh - Institut Français d’Ecosse, Consular Residence in Edinburgh, three residential blocks) and in coordination with the sites’ various internal departments:
1. Managing preventive and corrective maintenance:
▪ Technical, administrative and financial supervision of preventive maintenance contracts
▪ Identifying and analysing needs and managing corrective maintenance operations
▪ Supervising relevant budgets and reporting
2. Managing minor jobs and alterations:
▪ Identifying and analysing various departments’ needs
▪ Proposing annual schedule of maintenance works
▪ Technical, administrative and financial supervision of scheduled works
▪ Supervising relevant budgets and reporting
3. Cross-functional duties
▪ Finding technical maintenance contractors, competitive tendering, negotiating rates
▪ Keeping maintenance records
▪ Maintaining and updating a directory of trusted building companies
▪ Overseeing internal staff and technical support
▪ Assisting the SGA in supporting property operations supervised by the Estate and Logistics Directorate
▪ Occasional participation in other departmental duties

SKILLS REQUIRED
Desirable training and experience
▪BAC +3 or equivalent
▪Training or proven experience in building management and services
▪Good knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, especially in the context of works sites and interventions
▪Understanding of technical aspects related to works (reading plans, understanding estimates, monitoring sites)
▪Solid knowledge of building services (heating/ventilation/air conditioning, electricity, plumbing, lift maintenance etc.)
▪Knowledge of the broad principles of French public procurement
▪Mastery of office software (word processing, spreadsheets)
Languages required ▪Perfect command of French and English
Personal qualities
▪ Independence, attention to detail, organizational ability
▪ Ability to work as part of a team and be accountable
▪ Good written and oral communication skills
▪ Interest in building services and budget management
▪ Administrative and financial discipline
▪ Trustworthiness and professional discretion

Annual salary and allowances
▪ £3,337 gross per month
▪ Possibility of pension fund with employer contributions
▪ Possibility of health insurance with employer contributions
▪ Possibility of partial reimbursement of monthly transport costs (limited to Zones 1-6)

▪ Monday to Thursday 9.00 to 18.00
▪ Friday 9.00 to 14.00
