Summary
We are looking for a reliable, caring, positive and good-humoured Support Worker to join a small, dedicated team supporting CRO-ABE, a 25-year-old woman with severe learning difficulties.
CRO-ABE lives in her family home, which provides a warm, friendly and supportive environment. She requires 1:1 support with all aspects of daily living and personal care, while being encouraged to do as much for herself as possible.
The Role
The successful candidate will be proactive, patient and enthusiastic, and happy to be fully involved in all aspects of CRO-ABE’s life. Support may include:
Personal care and daily living support
Helping to prepare simple meals
Supporting physical activity such as walking, gym and swimming
Attending music groups, social clubs and rebound therapy
Supporting volunteering placements and community activities
Spending time at home playing educational games, reading, growing plants
Supporting learning activities such as writing her name and developing life skills
Communication
Good, expressive communication skills are essential, as CRO-ABE has limited speech. The family and support team often use Makaton to aid communication (training/support can be provided).
Experience & Requirements
Experience in disability support is not essential — full support and guidance will be provided by experienced team members
A kind, respectful and person-centred approach is essential
A driving licence would be an advantage
This is a rewarding role for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting others to live a meaningful, active and happy life.
