The range of duties and responsibilities outlined here are indicative of the range and type of duties that will be allocated. They are subject to modification in the light of changing service demands and the development requirements of the post holder. The post-holder will be expected to: Clinical Care Prepare procedural areas, equipment, and monitoring devices for pain management interventions. Assist the pain consultant in delivering interventions such as nerve blocks, epidurals, and radiofrequency ablations. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, escalating concerns promptly. Provide clear, empathetic explanations of procedures and aftercare instructions to patients. Uphold aseptic and infection prevention techniques at all times. Accurately document all care and interventions in accordance with organisational standards. Contribute to patient follow-up where appropriate. Respond to emergency situations with composure, maintaining patient safety and seeking immediate support, supporting the patient, family and other staff as required. Operational Support Maintain specialist pain management equipment, ensuring safety checks and servicing are completed and that faults are reported. Support stock management, ordering consumables and medicines to maintain required levels. Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development projects. Professional Practice Maintain professional accountability for all clinical actions. Engage in CPD to keep skills and knowledge up to date. Participate in reflective practice, supervision, and peer learning.
