Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant
Location: Runcorn
Salary: £28,500
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 hours per day – Flexibility Required
At Rowlands Pharmacy, our purpose is to improve patient health and wellbeing by delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy services. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join our Centralised Dispensing Facility and support quality, governance and continuous improvement across our DSP and MediPAC operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with detail, data and processes, and wants to make a real contribution to patient safety and service excellence.
The Role
Working alongside the Lead QA Pharmacist and Superintendents’ team, you will help ensure high standards of quality assurance and compliance across the facility. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting quality assurance and governance activities across DSP and MediPAC
- Ensuring compliance with GPhC standards, company SOPs and information governance requirements
- Assisting with patient safety incident investigations and implementing process improvements
- Producing and reviewing quality and performance data to identify trends and reduce errors
- Maintaining product data, including barcode integrity, updates and restrictions
- Supporting branches and internal teams with quality-related queries
- Working with technical teams to resolve production issues and improve efficiency
- You may also be involved in software testing, system upgrades and wider quality improvement projects.
About you
You will be a Qualified Dispensing Assistant (NVQ Level 2 or above) with a good understanding of pharmacy processes and professional standards. You’ll be organised, detail-focused and confident communicating with colleagues at all levels.
Ideally, you’ll also bring:
- Experience in an off-site or centralised dispensing environment
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and working with data
- Experience creating or reviewing SOPs or supporting staff training
