A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a confident and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-established and friendly small animal practice in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. About the Practice
This well-respected small animal clinic prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere and state-of-the-art facilities, including in-house laboratory, ultrasound, X-ray, and endoscopy equipment. The team includes a highly experienced Lead Vet with over 20 years’ expertise, one dedicated veterinarian, regular locums, skilled RVNs, and friendly reception staff. Out-of-hours care is provided by the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), ensuring continuity of patient care and a sustainable work–life balance.
Role & Hours
The practice is seeking a confident Veterinary Surgeon to manage routine procedures, including sole charge on Fridays. The role involves:
• 4 days per week, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Participation in either a 1-in-6 full weekend rota at the sister hospital or a 1-in-3 Saturday rota
• Occasional support at up to three nearby branches, depending on business needs
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures
• Provide compassionate communication and updates to clients
• Uphold the highest standards of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance
• Collaborate with the Practice Manager to support commercial performance
• Mentor and develop colleagues, fostering a positive team environment
• Ensure effective clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients needing advanced care

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience
