Utility Analyst
£24,570 to £25,500 plus great benefits (Work Level 6C)
Manchester city centre (Hybrid - splitting your time between home and the office)

We're looking for an Utility Analyst to join our Source to Pay team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for our member-owners every day'.

In this role, you'll make sure our utility bills are accurate, paid on time, and managed in the right way. You'll validate bills for both internal and external customers, support change of tenancy processes, and help resolve queries raised through Salesforce. You'll also get involved in our Power Billing transformation activity, reviewing how things work today and helping shape smarter, more efficient ways of working for the future.

Why this role matters

Utilities play a key role in keeping our business running smoothly. By validating bills, managing approvals, and resolving issues quickly, you'll help us pay suppliers correctly and keep our relationships strong. This role helps to protect our Co-op from financial risk, supports our stores and sites across the UK, and makes sure that our colleagues and partners can rely on us.

What you'll do

  • Validate utility bills for internal and external customers
  • Complete COTs (Change of Tenancies)
  • Manage supplier and customer queries using our Salesforce case management system
  • Support our Power Billing transformation project by reviewing and improving existing processes
  • Manage utility approvals and payments to suppliers
  • Support with supplier query calls and debt resolution

What you'll bring

  • Good Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
  • Experience delivering great customer service
  • Experience working in the utilities and/or energy industry

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we're owned by our members. And because we're owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a movement. We're an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we're powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you'll also receive:

  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream - early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

A place you'll belong

We're building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and our support centre is an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can thrive.

If you have a disability, we'll make reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process. We're also proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme - if you're disabled and you meet the minimum criteria for this job, we'll guarantee you an interview.

Please be aware we may close applications for this role early

As part of your application, you'll need to complete an online assessment. This assessment typically takes up to 50 minutes. If you're a current Co-op colleague, this does not need to be completed.
