To provide high quality care for orthopaedic patients in theatres (including procedure room), clinic(including virtual fracture clinic, Trauma Assessment Unit and the wardsTo participate in the morning trauma meetings.To take part in the 1:20 on call rota. Professional Development, Education and Training To remain up to date and engaged in CME/CPD as per Royal College guidelines.To attend the monthly departmental meetingsTo attend relevant courses (e.g. BSSH hand courses) and meetings to improve skills and knowledgein hand surgery. Research and Development There will be opportunities for research and innovation to develop our local services.To assist the hand surgical team with ongoing service evaluation projects and initiate new projects. 4. Communications and Working Relationships To work flexibly within the teams (e.g. to help cover rota gaps when possible)To show initiative, enthusiasm and flexibilityTo liaise with nursing and therapy staff in a timely and appropriate manner to coordinate care. Clinical Governance To respond appropriately to complaints and critical incidentsTo undertake and supervise relevant quality improvement projects relating to hand surgery Teaching To participate with the development of postgraduate training for Foundation doctors, Core SurgicalTrainees and other staff as appropriate General Responsibilities Observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS FoundationTrust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations.Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff.The post-holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of workcolleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital. This statutory duty is in addition to any specificrisk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with the post.
