As part of our continued growth, McGuinness Mechanical is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Newry.
You will oversee the commercial performance of mechanical projects from start to finish. You will manage costs, review contracts and make sure every decision supports both quality delivery and strong margins.
You will play a central role in keeping our projects commercially sound, well organised and profitable, while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers who value teamwork and straight talking.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage budgets, costs and subcontractor accounts.
• Prepare valuations, cost/value reconciliations and final accounts.
• Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Track financial performance and provide clear reports to management.
• Control variations and minimise unnecessary spend.
• Support defect liability and retention processes with the aftercare team.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
• Guide and support junior commercial staff.

The Person
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Strong knowledge of contracts and regulations
• Confident with cost planning and financial reporting
• Clear communicator and skilled negotiator
• Organised, practical and solutions-focused
• RICS membership desirable
• Full clean UK/ROI driving licence and happy to travel to sites
