Flexible, Organised Support Role | Norfolk
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to support the mother of a disabled young man with administrative, coordination, and organisational tasks that help the household run smoothly.
In this trusted role, you will act as the mother’s right-hand support, helping manage schedules, communications, research tasks, and practical systems that support the family’s daily life and the young man’s independence.
This position focuses on practical support, organisation, and coordination rather than senior decision-making, clinical responsibility, or case management. The mother remains responsible for decisions relating to care, legal matters, and services; the EA provides structured support to help plans and arrangements run smoothly.
This is a role built on trust, reliability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are varied but carried out under the mother’s guidance.
Administrative & Organisational Support
- Managing calendars, appointments, and reminders

Appointments & Coordination

- Assisting with arranging medical or support appointments
- Attending appointments when needed to take notes and report back
Research & Enquiries
- Researching services, activities, clubs, and opportunities suited to the young man’s interests
- Making enquiries and gathering information for the mother’s review
- Helping compare options or quotes when services are being considered
Home & Independence Support
- Helping maintain organisational systems in the home
- Supporting routines, schedules, labels, and reminders that encourage independence
- Assisting with setting up apps, calendars, or simple technology tools
Household Logistics
- Assisting with rotas, bookings, errands, and practical arrangements
- Planning outings, activities, or holidays when requested
- Driving to appointments or for errands
General Support
- Helping the mother manage her own appointment scheduling
- Providing reliable support during busy periods
- Occasional flexibility may be required in urgent situations, within agreed expectations
Person Specification
- Experience in an administrative, EA, PA, medical admin, or coordination role
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, email, digital calendars)
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Highly discreet, professional, and committed to maintaining strict confidentiality
- DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Car owner with full driving licence
- Comfortable around animals
- Willing to travel locally between Watton, West Norfolk, and Norwich
Confidentiality
This is a private family role involving sensitive personal, medical, and household information. The successful candidate must be highly discreet and professional in all matters.
Strict confidentiality is essential, and the successful applicant will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of engagement.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid role may be considered (home and remote work)
- 3-month initial contract, possible extension
- Self-employed applicants may be considered
Pay
Pay reflects experience, confidence, and the level of responsibility a candidate is comfortable undertaking within a support capacity.
£18–£25 per hour.
Recruitment Process
To ensure the right match for both the family and candidate, the recruitment process will include a three-stage Interview, including the opportunity to demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
