Finance Manager | Liverpool | Full Time | £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Are you a finance professional who enjoys being close to the business and seeing the real impact of your work? This is a hands-on, commercially minded Finance Manager role where you’ll have the freedom to shape how finance supports the wider team — without being dropped in at the deep end. You’ll work alongside supportive directors and an E-commerce Manager, helping a growing brand make confident, well-informed decisions.
Our client is a fast-growing personalised jewellery and gifts business, creating stylish, meaningful pieces that people genuinely love to buy, wear and gift.
With a strong reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, the business blends timeless design with accessible pricing. It’s a creative, energetic environment where finance is seen as a partner to growth — not just a reporting function.
What will your role look like?
You’ll take ownership of the core finance function, with plenty of opportunity to refine processes, introduce improvements over time, and focus on what really matters commercially — all with the support of a close-knit team:
• Overseeing day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR and the general ledger
• Producing clear, useful monthly management accounts and reports
• Ensuring compliance with UK accounting, tax and regulatory requirements
• Supporting pricing and margin analysis across online and retail sales channels
• Reviewing supplier costs and cost of goods sold
• Keeping a close eye on freight, shipping and returns costs
• Owning retail partner P&L performance and translating numbers into insight
• Reviewing marketing spend against sales performance and ROI
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Owning cash flow and working capital to support growth
• Maintaining strong but practical internal controls
• Acting as a trusted financial sounding board to the E-commerce Manager and leadership team
• This is a stand-alone finance role within an exciting and growing SME, not a large team management position
Are you the right person for the job?
• Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role
• Open to candidates from all financial backgrounds — industry experience is flexible
• Experience in e-commerce, retail or FMCG is a strong advantage, but not essential
• A good balance of financial reporting and commercial insight
• Strong Excel skills, with confidence building reports and analysing data
• Comfortable working closely with non-finance teams in a collaborative environment
• Curious, organised and happy in a growing, evolving business
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience preferred
What’s in it for you?
• A friendly, creative and down-to-earth culture where finance has a real voice
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Hybrid working – typically 1 day per week from home post-probation, with flexibility where needed
• Jewellery allowance
• Pension scheme
• BrightHR support and wellbeing platform
• A genuinely supportive, high-autonomy role
• The chance to shape finance in a growing brand and see your impact day to day
