Information for the role of House PorterPermanent, full time roleSalary £25,275 per annum for 37.5 hours per week An excellent opportunity to join a prestigious organisation in a varied and fulfilling role in a small friendly team. Your day-to-day duties will include:The lifting, moving and storing of furniture, equipment and other items (manual handling training will be provided)Managing waste and recycling across the College.Supporting Housekeeping and other departments as required via delivering linen, chemicals and other packages.Cleaning of designated areas of the College (both internal and external); the collection and return of recycling bins and laundry duties To be considered for this role, you will need to have:A full UK-valid driving licence (with a maximum of 3 points)The ability to move and lift heavy items, and use ladders, in line with Risk Assessments and after trainingKnowledge of, or able to learn, cleaning routine and techniquesClear communication skills, with a good command of the English language The ideal candidate will be a polite and friendly team player, who is able to respond to changing work priorities. Details of the roleThe House Porter team mainly delivers services during normal core hours (7.00am-3,00pm) with some out of hours and weekend working required. The College aims to plan weekend working or unusual hours two weeks in advance, although there will times when additional flexibility will be required to respond to client changes. This role is a permanent, full time position. The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, worked over 7 days, including a daily 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The annual salary is £25,275 per annum for 37.5 hours per week (Step 27 on the College Salary Scale).
