Working Pattern: Flexible (day-to-day, short-term & long-term supply)

TeacherActive are currently recruiting Supply Teachers to work across a range of Primary Schools in South Birmingham. This role is ideal for teachers seeking flexible work, whether you’re looking for occasional days, consistent weekly bookings, or a better work-life balance.

The schools we work with are particularly looking for teachers who are confident working in Key Stage 2, including Year 5 and Year 6, and who can confidently step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons.

The Role:

As a Supply Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS2, including Year 5 and Year 6


  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment


  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures


  • Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines


  • Provide brief feedback to schools at the end of the day


    ‍ The Ideal Candidate:

    We are looking for teachers who:

    • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


    • Are confident teaching KS2, particularly Year 5 & Year 6


    • Are flexible and happy to work across multiple schools in South Birmingham


    • Are reliable, adaptable, and confident managing behaviour


    • Are comfortable delivering pre-planned lessons


    • Are happy to work through TeacherActive and be paid via PAYE


      ✅ Compliance & Eligibility Requirements:

      • A DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive


      • Ability to provide two professional references from previous educational employers


      • Eligibility to work in the UK
