Support Worker
Pay rate: Monday to Friday Day - £14.18 per hour & Saturday & Sunday Day - £15.23 per hour
Shift pattern: Days - 8:00am - 20:00pm
We've got a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their own home in St Austell.Supporting a lady who takes a great interest in animals, fashion, children's magazines and all things pink & girlie.This person has autism, anorexia and mental health struggles. There is a history of challenges and risks associated with these conditions.
To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to St Austell and know the area, and can drive a car, holding a full UK Driving Licence.
Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:
- Autism
- Mental health
- Anorexia
- Behaviours that can be perceived as challenging
What you’ll be doing
As a Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in helping this individual live safely, comfortably, and in a way that reflects their preferences. Your day might include:
- Providing high‑quality support on a 2:1 basis
- Creating opportunities for meaningful activities at home and in the community
- Encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional wellbeing
- Supporting communication in the way that works best for them
- Helping with routine household tasks to maintain a calm, organised environment
This is a role where your presence genuinely makes a difference every day.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for people who already have experience in:
- Complex Care
- Autism
- Epilepsy
- Behaviours that may be perceived as challenging
- Mental Health support
Just as important is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and build positive, trusting relationships.
