KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a consultant the post holder will have full responsibilities for patients under their care within the context of a multidisciplinary team structure and share clinical responsibility with colleagues in running the clinical work of the department. There are opportunities to add additional responsibilities around education lead, governance lead and rota coordination in discussion with the leadership team. Job plan: This is a 10PA job plan including 2SPA (1.5 core) and 8DCCs, divided evenly between GIM and specialty. The structure of the GIM component of the job plan is indicated in the table below, SPA can be carried out flexibly around ward work or in weeks 2-6, specialty activity will be carried out in weeks 2-6. Specialty DCCs will be determined by the specialty CSL and will vary in component but not exceed 4DCCs unless agreed with the candidate. The weekend frequency is 1:6 and there is no expectation for additional specialty-based weekend work. An indicative job plan is shown below in italics for a procedure-based specialty, but please do contact specialty CSLs in advance of interview to discuss options. There is the option for remote working for all GIM meetings and MDTs in weeks 2-6, meaning this job could be tailored to those wishing to work flexibly or who would otherwise work less than full time.
