Are you a proactive, hands-on professional with a "can-do" attitude?
We are seeking a dedicated Site Manager to join our expanding Trust. This is a pivotal role where your contributions directly impact the safety and welfare of our students and staff. You will not just be managing a building; you will be creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment where education can thrive.
Role and Responsibilities
As Site Manager, you will have overarching responsibility for our school grounds and buildings. This is an incredibly important and vital role. You will balance strategic responsibilities—such as managing the maintenance budget and overseeing compliance —with practical, hands-on maintenance work.
You will lead and inspire the site team, including other site team members, and liaising with external cleaning and grounds maintenance personnel, ensuring high standards are met across the board.
Key Responsibilities
• Security & Safety: Act as the designated key holder and ensure the security of the site, including the management of CCTV and alarm systems. You will champion safety by producing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with Fire Safety regulations.
• Maintenance & Improvement: Take pride in the school's appearance by undertaking general repairs, redecoration, and minor plumbing or electrical works. You will also oversee external contractors to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
• Leadership: Plan and manage the time of the site staff, overseeing recruitment, appraisals, and development.
• Operations: Manage the efficient operation of heating, lighting, and plant systems. You will also facilitate school lettings and provide support for school performances and exams.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with a blend of technical skill and managerial capability. You should possess:
• Experience: A background in building/site maintenance with the ability to forward plan and solve problems. Considerable DIY experience (minor maintenance, plumbing, decorating, etc.) is essential.
• Leadership Skills: The ability to lead a team, prioritize work, and meet challenging deadlines.
• Technical Proficiency: Competence in using ICT (Google Docs and Google Sheets) for record-keeping and the ability to manage budgets.
• Flexibility: A willingness to work flexibly to respond to urgent requests and undertake driving of the minibus as required.
• Commitment: An understanding of safeguarding issues and a commitment to child welfare.
