About the Role

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

This brand new role will be co-located within the Integrated Front Door (Children’s Social Care) at Wombwell, Barnsley.

Children are recognised as victims in their own right, and local systems must respond effectively at the point of first contact to mitigate both immediate risk and long-term harm.

The primary objective of the role is to identify domestic abuse at the earliest opportunity and to support partner agencies to respond as safely and effectively as possible. The role will provide robust safety planning in cases where domestic abuse is present.

By embedding specialist domestic abuse expertise within the Integrated Front Door, the postholder will contribute to all multi-agency decision-making at this critical stage. The role will also provide advice, guidance, and support to social workers allocated to cases where domestic abuse poses a risk within the family home.

Objectives specific to the Integrated front door role :

Identify domestic abuse earlier and more consistently at contact.
Improve timeliness and quality of decision-making (right help, first time).
Develop robust, survivor- and child-centred safety plans from day one.
Reduce repeat referrals and repeat victimisation.
Strengthen whole-family practice and safe perpetrator management pathways.
Expert domestic abuse input in decision-making from initial contact with the front door.
Strengthen the survivors' voice throughout all assessments and processes.
Take lead on IDAS Children's services in Barnsley
Represent IDAS at multi-agency meetings such as MADA, strategy meetings and safeguarding meetings.
In return, we offer:

Comprehensive training and development opportunities
Competitive salary: £33,699 FTE
26 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time)
Contributory pension scheme
Employer-paid health cash plan
Access to national discount schemes

Contract: Fixed Term for 12 months
