To receive and assist patients face to face and by telephone in the Endoscopy Unit. This may also include cross site working, off-site reception areas and contact centres.
To co-ordinate and enter onto the hospitals system(s) all appointments/investigations/admissions/discharges directly with the patient or referrer, in accordance with the Trust’s Patient Access Policy, and all relevant information/preparation is made available within agreed timescales.
To prepare health records for new and follow up attendances and admissions ensuring all relevant correct and up to date documentation is available and filed according to instructions.

Responsible for retrieval, movement, and management of health records, aided by tracking systems, in accordance with Trust policy, including resolving issues of missing notes.

Liaise with the appropriate staff clinical and clerical staff regarding DNA’s and cancellations, taking appropriate action to ensure patients are managed in accordance with the Trust’s Patient Access Policy.
Retrieve and disseminate all admission and theatre lists to appropriate staff or areas as required.
To deal with general enquiries, including telephone calls relating to patient’s admissions, taking messages and action as and when required.
To be flexible, even at short notice, about working location where service needs within the Group require.
In order to ensure an appropriate service is maintained, the post holder will be expected to participate in seven-day rota including, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Ensure effective hand-over of duties to colleagues, and ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, and welcoming always, particularly at the point of handover.
Ensure that the main waiting area of the unit is kept clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
In conjunction with your Line Manager ensure that you maintain the necessary skills and attend any relevant training courses to fulfil your role and keep up with personal development in line with any developments in the service.
Ensure Confidentiality is always maintained, and patients are treated with Empathy and understanding.
Support the Booking Team with call reminding of patients as and when required.
Support the booking team with the follow up of DNA’s and cancellations.
Support the Booking and Clinical teams with general office duties as required.
