Job Description Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Practice Nurse, and in accordance with practice policies and protocols, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples following direct referral from a GP or Nurse. Duties and Responsibilities Perform venepuncture in line with training and agreed procedures Ensure patient comfort, confirm consent, and verify patient identity Accurately label, store, and prepare blood samples for laboratory collection Record blood collection accurately in the patient record Ensure timely dispatch of samples to the appropriate laboratories Report any significant patient concerns to the GP or Nurse Liaise with and support the administrative and clinical teams Accurately document all care provided Participate in approved clinical research projects as required Confidentiality The post-holder will have access to confidential information relating to patients, carers, staff, and the practice. All information must be treated as strictly confidential and only shared with authorised individuals in line with practice policies, GDPR, and data protection legislation.
