About The Role
My Tier 1 Civils client is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead design and engineering delivery across their Eastern England Delivery Unit, initially on a large highways project in Lincoln starting Q1 2026. You'll ensure design excellence, compliance, and cost-effective, timely solutions while collaborating with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders across the region. This project-based role will give you the opportunity to make a real impact on high-profile infrastructure projects.
What you'll be doing
- Lead all design and engineering activities on projects, including temporary works and external consultant management.
- Ensure design compliance, approvals, and quality standards are met.
- Lead CDM Principal Designer activities.
- Deliver operationally effective designs on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal teams across the business.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and third parties from a design perspective.
- Drive the integration of digital technologies on projects.
- Support supply chain technical compliance and project risk management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in civil engineering and construction design.
- Strong technical, operational, and risk management knowledge.
- Results-driven, quality-focused, and flexible to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused with a keen eye for value opportunities.
- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally.
