Senior Account Manager - Tavcom Training (Mitie Group)

Location: Birmingham / UK (Nationwide Travel Required)

Department: Technical Training Solutions / Key Accounts

Reports to: Key Account Director



Overview

Tavcom Training, part of Mitie—the UK's largest security solutions provider—delivers world‑class technical training for security engineers across CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Fire Systems, IP Networks, and wider physical security technologies.

As a Senior Account Manager, you will lead relationships with some of our largest and most strategically important clients. Your primary focus will be Growth, Retention, and Innovation—ensuring our clients have access to the highest-quality training programmes, driving commercial expansion, and shaping future training solutions in line with industry and technological change.

This is a senior, client-facing role requiring outstanding commercial acumen, deep stakeholder engagement skills, and an understanding of the needs of technical engineers, integrators, installers, and major security estates.



Key Responsibilities



Client Relationship & Account Leadership

-Own and develop relationships with senior stakeholders across our largest clients.

-Operate as a trusted advisor on training strategy, engineering competence, and professional development pathways.

-Lead regular client reviews to evaluate performance, understand client challenges and build new training requirements.

-Build long-term relationships to secure multi-year engagement, ensuring consistent and regular reselling of training across your portfolio.



Growth & Commercial Performance

-Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities for expansion

-Support bid responses, proposals, and commercial negotiations for new programmes and contract extensions.

-Deliver all revenue, margin, and growth targets for your accounts.

-Manage forecast and pipeline activity to ensure booking of courses achieves the desired level of profitability.

-Management of Account Manager to ensure deliver of overall business targets.



Innovation & Solution Development

-Champion innovation by identifying future training needs driven by evolving security technology.

-Work closely with Tavcom's technical instructors, curriculum designers, and product teams to shape new courses or learning pathways.

-Translate client problems into innovative training solutions, including blended learning, practical workshops, and digital delivery.

-Bring insight from industry trends, emerging regulations, and

-Be aware of market trends, competitor information and technical standards (CCTV, Fire, Access Control, IP networking).

-Liaise with Key Account Director to keep our portfolio relevant and current.



Operational & Service Excellence

-Coordinate with scheduling, training operations, and technical instructors to ensure seamless delivery across all client requirements.

-Monitor utilisation, delegate attendance, certification performance, and operational MI for your portfolio.

-Manage escalations promptly, maintaining strong relationships and demonstrating responsive service.



Stakeholder Influence & Internal Leadership

-Influence senior internal stakeholders to prioritise client needs and accelerate solution delivery.

-Support the development of account managers and share best practice across the commercial team within Mitie

-Represent Tavcom and Mitie at industry events, technology showcases, and client leadership forums.



Skills & Experience Required



Essential

-Proven Sales Account Management experience managing major or strategic accounts, ideally in technical training, security, FM, engineering services, or professional services.

-Strong commercial skills with a track record of driving growth, retention, and client engagement.

-Ability to understand and discuss technical subjects such as CCTV systems, fire alarms, access control, IP networks, or engineering competencies.

-Excellent communication and presentation skills at senior level.

-Experience building tailored client solutions based on data, training needs analysis, or technical requirements.

-Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple, complex client portfolios.

-Willingness to be part of a team, enjoy a challenge and engage with people all over the world



Desirable

-Knowledge of the UK security installation landscape and SIA/NSI/BSIA standards.

-Experience with blended learning solutions or training programme development.

-Familiarity with industry platforms and technologies used in physical and electronic security systems.
