Moss View School is a small, nurturing specialist independent school supporting up to 48 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We provide a calm, structured learning environment where every pupil is known and supported as an individual.
Our classes are intentionally small, with a maximum of 8 pupils per class, supported by 1 Teacher and 2 Key Workers, enabling high staff-to-pupil ratios and highly personalised support.
The Role
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Primary SEMH Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the full primary curriculum, supported by high-quality curriculum frameworks and resources.
You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across all subject areas, while supporting pupils with a range of SEMH needs in a trauma-informed and nurturing environment.
Curriculum Support
Teachers at Moss View School are fully supported to deliver the whole curriculum through:
Curriculum Maestro for structured, sequenced curriculum planning
Little Wandle Letters and Sounds for phonics and early reading
This support ensures teachers can focus on high-quality teaching, individualised learning, and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the full primary curriculum across all subjects
Plan and adapt lessons using Curriculum Maestro and Little Wandle
Support pupils with SEMH needs using positive behaviour and relational approaches
Work closely with key workers to provide consistency and structure
Assess progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
About You
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
Experience teaching across the primary age range (SEMH experience desirable but not essential)
Confident delivering a broad and balanced curriculum
Calm, patient, and consistent, with strong behaviour management skills
Passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
What We Offer:
Small class sizes with excellent staffing ratios
Strong curriculum frameworks and planning support
A supportive, close-knit team environment
Ongoing professional development and SEMH training
A genuinely rewarding role where you can make a real difference
Safeguarding
Moss View School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
