Are you a driven, confident communicator with a passion for sales and exceptional customer service?

Waste King Recycling Ltd is a specialist waste broker with over 18 years of experience, proudly employing more than 35 local team members. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an ambitious, dedicated, and proactive customer service / sales professional to join our growing team.

If you have a can-do attitude and can deliver excellent customer satisfaction and close warm leads, then we want to hear from you.

The Role

We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and confident communicator who will help deliver a positive experience to customers and convert new inbound client enquiries into long-term accounts. If you have a competitive streak and a commitment to providing first-class customer service, you will thrive in this challenge.

As part of our team of Waste Advisors, you’ll be tasked with responding to customer enquiries and securing new business for Waste King. The successful candidate will receive inbound enquiries from domestic and corporate customers and will be supported with outstanding training and development in order to deliver successfully.

Core Responsibilities

- You will be responsible for answering incoming calls and responding to emails from our customers within the required SLAs/KPIs.
- Making outbound calls to grow sales and nurture customer relationships.
- Listening to and understanding the needs of the customer.
- Taking ownership of customer enquiries and responding to escalated customer issues or complaints in accordance with documented procedures.
- Administration of customer accounts, including data cleansing, setting up temporary accounts, collating reports, making bookings for additional services, and dealing with invoice queries.
- Communicating across our depot network to resolve customer queries.
- Meeting established goals for all metrics, including call and case quality, productivity, and sales conversion, to enable us to provide the best customer experience and deliver company growth.

Essential Requirements

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Capable of staying calm under pressure and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- The desire to win business and excel amongst your peers.

The Person

We are looking for people with fantastic verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of the waste industry would be an advantage, but confidence and a willingness to learn are of equal importance. A core element of the role will be to ask engaging questions, understand client requirements, and deliver consultative solutions to a wide range of customer waste requirements. This role is critically important to the company, as you will be the first point of contact with customers and prospects.

- 1+ year of customer service, outbound sales, or telesales experience.
- Confident communicator with a strong sales mindset.
- Resilient, motivated, and target-driven.
- The ability to handle rejection and keep a positive attitude.
- Comfortable making and taking high volumes of calls daily.
- Strong organisational skills.
- A true team player, you’ll thrive on working with your fellow Waste Advisors and bring a creative, collaborative approach to everything you do.
- The ability to complete proactive outbound calls, advising customers on changes to services or relaying other key information.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base salary of £29,000 per annum plus performance-based bonuses.

- A friendly and high-achieving team environment.
- Ongoing training and support.
- Company pension scheme.
- 28 days’ holiday, inclusive of public holidays, increasing 1 day per year up to 5 years.
