Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our demand management and network infrastructure team. We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.

What will you be doing?
As our Communications Advisor you'll work on our Thames Water Metering contract based in Langley.
The successful candidate will work across all programs of our team developing and supporting the implementation of an effective communications strategy. The Communications Advisor will be responsible for creating, managing, and communicating content; messaging; and strengthening the communications skills and capacity of other team members.

The successful candidate has first-rate skills in prioritising and have the ability to manage multiple tasks. Must be an outstanding collaborator and keen to learn with the entire team, to create and leverage communication products that generate impact, and to not be afraid to take the reins from time to time.

This is a hybrid based role. There will be times when travel to site or other offices is required.

- Assisting in the development and implementation of a communications plan and providing leadership for special communication projects.
- Thinking through, developing, and implementing important communications aspects of the Smart Metering, Developer Services and Major Projects Performance.
- Identifying relevant communications opportunities and creating, placing, and communicating content and messages.
- Collaborate with different teams to develop clear and engaging messaging for employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Organise and support communication initiatives, including events, campaigns, social value volunteering and corporate announcements.
- Testing formats and platforms, tracking use and uptake of communication products, and reflecting with our teams on the usefulness and impact of the programme outputs.
- Ensuring initiatives and projects are clearly communicated to key audiences.
- Managing and updating content across platforms (stay connected, Teams, email, text) on an ongoing basis.
- Supporting the wider team in enhancing their communication skills by helping to write/edit blogs and publications and by providing feedback and guidance.
- Ensure that all communication is responded to within the appropriate timescale.
- Take ownership of employee celebration processes.
- Adhere to confidentiality and DPA requirements

What you’ll bring

- Deep understanding of the media and communications landscape.
- Proficient in communications
- Experience in managing and updating content across media platforms, including traditional, Microsoft and social media outlets
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not essential.
- Able to make justifiable decisions using established processes and/or discretion
- Calm under pressure

- A full driving licence is essential as travel will be required
