Summary
We are recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join our client’s team on a permanent, full-time basis in Felixstowe. The role will involve carrying out analytical testing on raw materials and finished products. Ensuring the quality of the product range is controlled, maintained and appropriate documentation is updated, guaranteeing internal and external audit requirements
This role suits a candidate with strong practical laboratory experience, particularly in microbiological testing and chemistry-based analysis, who is detail-focused and comfortable working to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out microbiological and chemical testing on raw materials and finished products
• Sample preparation including serial dilutions, plating, incubation, and plate reading
• Accurate recording and timely reporting of analytical results
• Immediate escalation of out-of-specification results and non-conformances
• Maintain aseptic techniques and contamination / cross-contamination controls
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in line with SOPs and GMP standards
Applicants must have:
• Proven hands-on experience in microbiological testing in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with sample preparation, serial dilutions, plating, and plate reading
• Practical chemistry-based laboratory experience
• Good knowledge of aseptic techniques
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, balances, and microscopes
• Exposure to HPLC or similar analytical instrumentation
• Excellent attention to detail for reporting and result verification
Salary/Benefits:
• Competitive pay c£34K p/a
• Full-time hours, 8am – 4.30pm, Monay to Friday
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays and Pension
