- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Assist teachers in delivering adapted and accessible learning activities
- Help implement behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies
- Promote positive relationships and model constructive communication
- Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours in line with school policies
- Encourage engagement, participation, and independence
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with teaching staff
- Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs
- Understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Patience, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with pupils
- Adaptable across different classrooms and key stages
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Willingness to undertake additional training, including SEMH or behaviour-related programmes
