Meet the Team:
Lock Street is a friendly, open-plan day service supporting 13 individuals, ideally located close to Gillingham High Street. The service offers a vibrant and inclusive environment where people are encouraged to live active, fulfilling lives within their community.
The people we support there take part in a wide range of activities, including community events, volunteering at an animal sanctuary, going to the gym, and regular trips to the coast for picnics and meals out.

Our experienced and passionate staff team is excited to welcome a Part-Time Specialist Support Worker to join them. The team is known for their creativity, energy, and love of celebrating whether that's summer BBQs, social meals, or planning fun events throughout the year.

About You

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Part time Support Worker (may include but not limited to):
o DRIVE A MOBILITY CAR OR SERVICE VEHICLE. UK MANUAL LICENSE REQUIRED PREFERRED.
o Working with individuals who can display behaviors of concern when they are stressed which may include hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting and damaging property.
o Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks & shopping.
o Administering medication
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Be confident & experienced in lone working.
o Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW
o Household management tasks including cooking, cleaning etc.
o Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity.
o Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc.
o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained.
o Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where appropriate.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
o Manual UK driving licence essential confident driving mobility vehicles/people carriers

o Ability to confidently and consistently support individuals who may experience emotional distress, heightened anxiety, or difficulty regulating their behavior
o Clear, calm, and adaptable communication style to meet the needs of individuals with complex communication profiles
