Summary

We're looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our Somerset Highways team based in Glastonbury. As an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor, you'll support the Transportation team in delivering environmental excellence and sustainability initiatives.



Location: Glastonbury, Somerset - travel to the office required with some remote working availableHours: Permanent Fulltime 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year + £5k annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?As an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor, you'll advise colleagues on legal, client and company requirements to ensure we meet all environmental obligations while helping us achieve our sustainability goals.

Your day to day will include:

-Supporting the implementation of our One Planet Approach sustainability action plan

-Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001:2015 requirements through effective management systems

-Conducting site inspections and environmental assessments across Somerset to identify risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures

-Coordinating environmental data collection including carbon, waste, and water usage for reporting

-Delivering environmental training and sharing best practices with colleagues and our supply chain



What are we looking for?This role of Environmental and Sustainability Advisor is great if you:

-Hold a degree in a relevant environmental discipline and professional membership with ISEP or equivalent

-Bring experience in environmental management, ideally within construction or highways

-Have good practical knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems

-Are experienced in conducting compliance inspections and engaging with stakeholders
