Are you a qualified or soon‑to‑qualify Therapeutic Radiographer looking for an exciting new opportunity? Do you want to join an organisation that actively supports career development while valuing flexibility and work–life balance?
We are recruiting two Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographers to join our Radiotherapy team at Southend Hospital. At MSE, we recognise that Radiotherapy is a rapidly evolving specialty, and we are committed to investing in both our technology and our people.
Our department is equipped with three Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators, all delivering VMAT/IMRT with XVI imaging, supporting high‑quality Radiotherapy and stereotactic treatments. We also have an Ethos Halcyon Linac delivering adaptive Radiotherapy, with a new Halcyon Linac due to go live, and CRAD SGRT available throughout the department. Having access to state‑of‑the‑art equipment enables you to deliver outstanding patient care every day.
As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role within the team, rotating through treatment units, brachytherapy, pre‑treatment checking and CT.
We are passionate about developing our staff and offer an excellent preceptorship programme, comprehensive induction and ongoing support to help you build the skills and competencies required to progress to a Band 6 Radiographer.
Join us and be part of a forward‑thinking, supportive team where your development and well-being truly matter.
To participate in the day-to-day operation of the treatment units, brachytherapy unit, pre-treatment checking and CT on a rotational basis and to perform duties as required.
To provide information and support for all patients and their carers and demonstrate empathy and compassion.
To assist with student training and to maintain standards of work at all times.
To assist in the daily organisation and running of the relevant unit and maintain an appropriate level of competence in each area.
To maintain professional and technical standards of work within the department.
To undertake regular checking of treatment sheets, calculations and treatment plans to ensure that the prescription is carried out accurately.
Ensure that all patients receive accurate information and documentation relating to their treatment, potential side-effects and management of side-effects prior to the onset of treatment.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust
