Part Time Learning Support Assistant Vacancy
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our caring and inclusive infant school team. You will work closely with the class teacher and Early Years staff to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing during this crucial stage of their education. The role may include 1:1 support or working with small groups, helping children to engage with learning through play, routine and structured activities.
This position is for three days a week and is fixed term to 31st December 2026 (with the potential to be extended depending on pupil cohort and funding)

Key Responsibilities
• Support pupils’ learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Provide individual or small-group support, including for children with additional needs
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning activities
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and social development
• Support children with personal care where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents/carers
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Essential Skills and Expertise
• Experience working with young children, ideally in an Early Years or school setting
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• An understanding of child development and the EYFS (desirable)
• Excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
• Good level of general education including English & Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or above or the equivalent
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare

Salary: FTE £24,330.00/Actual Salary: £10,325.94 per annum
